Internships
If you have undergone any internship program, summer program or articleship while pursuing any degree or course, then enter relevant details in this section.
TIPS
  • An internship is the first work experience we usually have so it is important for your prospective employer to know about it
  • If you have good history of post qualification experience and which is relevant to the position you are applying for than it is advisable not to include internship in your resume. However if your internship experience is relevant to the job, include it, even when you already have had work experience as it can help to give a picture of your career progression. But in such case only talk about relevant experience
  • Make a list of all the duties and responsibilities you had during your internship. Select then the tasks relevant to the desired job and detail them in bullet points
FAQs
What is Internship?

Internship is an on-the-job training opportunity provided to students while they are pursuing and graduate or post graduate degree. In other words it offers students a hands-on opportunity to work in their desired field. They learn how their course of study applies to the real world and build valuable experience that makes them stronger candidates for jobs after graduation.

Do I need to include dates for my internship?

Yes, you should include starting and ending dates for each employer listed in the work history section.  It’s best to show both months and years. If you decide to show only years, a discerning hiring manager may wonder why you aren’t providing more detail.
