Here are some things to avoid so that you can avoid making your employer cringe.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Too much personal information &#8211;<\/strong> Writing you age, gender, marital status or the very worst including your picture! This opens up the recruiter to possible allegations of discrimination.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Using too many buzzwords\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; Such as \u2018<em>unique<\/em>\u2019, \u2018hard-working\u2019, etc. These are your own opinions on yourself and if you don\u2019t have anything to back it up, it just looks like <em>overconfidence<\/em> and what does that do? Make them cringe!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Being vague &#8211;<\/strong> When listing a skill be exact about your level and the tasks you can carry out with them. Telling them you have a skill and then turning out you just know the headlines is a huge turn off and honestly quite annoying.
